Searshouse.com has a furnace failure.
It was a Carrier Weather Maker installed in SearsHouse.com that failed with "chilling" results. It go down to the lower fifties and I did things like turn on space heaters and the oven. Service took a couple of hours. Bad igniter (think spark plug). Service guy diagnosed and repaired quickly. Nice guy.
I didn't like the breakdown but service response was excellent so I still recommend the Carrier Weathermaker Furnace. Repair guy said he had seen this before.
06-02-03 A furnace repair guy I talked to in the local bar told me that I can get an igniter for fiteen to twenty dollars so I should get it to have around. He said this was 95% of Carrier Weathermaker Furnace service calls so it could be cheap insurance. it could save a $50 labor charge on a future service call now that the warranty is down to parts but not labor.
