This message is from the author of the book "The Madison Bombings" who assumed that Leo Burt if alive would be reading it. Info on the book and how to contact the author is below. Some non-public details would be useful in legitimising any communications. The book, "The Madison Bombings" is extremely rare, I couldn't find a copy on any internet used book list or on any inter-library loan list. I found my copy through an Amazon.com used book seller but another copy would be very difficult to find. My next reading project, RADS by Tom Bates is somewhat more available but I haven't read it yet.

Leo Burt remains unaccounted for. Over the years a number of sightings

of him have been reported by various people, but none of these came to

anything.

Whether or not he is alive has become a standard question. Some,

thinking he was a central figure in that alleged government conspiracy to

discredit the Anti-war Movement, claim that he is alive and well and living

under a government-created new identity in the witness protection

programme. Others, especially the lawmen who had pursued lead after

lead on Leo, believe that he must surely be dead. They ask how else he

could have remained silent and undetected all these years? Pride!

So where is he? The answers are all similar, all prealctable:

"Probably in Cuba" or "Must be dead".

George Baxtrum leaves the question open but makes the sensible

suggestion: "As for Burt, if he's alive I'd recommend he come in too.

The era is over".

As author, may I say that if Leo is alive (as I'm sure he is, because while

researching I had some cryptic messages!) I know he'll read this book.

Once he has I hope he'll drop me a line (care of the publisher). When he

does, this edition will be immediately withdrawn and a new edition

substituted, in the light of what he has to say.
